Volunteers from Lewisham’s Natures Gym visited the reserve today, for the first of two days work kindly arranged by Jess and Judith.
None of the volunteers had visited the Cutting before, although a few had passed by on ocassion and wondered what lay beyond the verdant horsetail. All were surprised just how big the site is once you pass beyond the deceptively shallow front area!
Volunteers divided into two groups; clearing bramble and willow herb that has spread within the reed bed area, as well making a start on removing bindweed and bramble from the front fence line, in preparation for the No Car Day event on 22nd September.
We’d liked to say a big Thank You to all that came along, and hope they come again soon!
